  • Camera (CAMERA): We request access to your device's camera to allow you to capture and upload a profile picture directly within the app.
  • Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): We request access to your device's microphone strictly to enable the voice expense input feature, allowing you to quickly log expenses using your voice.
  • Storage & Gallery (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, etc.): We request access to your device's photo gallery and storage so you can select and upload existing photos for your profile. This applies across different Android versions (e.g., API 29-33+).
  • Notifications & Alarms (POST_NOTIFICATIONS, SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): We use these permissions to schedule and send you timely, local push notifications and reminders regarding your budget, expenses, and financial goals, even after your device restarts.

b. User and Financial Data

As an expense tracker, BudgetIQ collects the financial transaction data (incomes, expenses, categories) you input. If you create a profile, we may also store your chosen display name and profile picture. Unless synchronized with a cloud service explicitly provided by the App, this data is stored locally on your device.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information and permissions collected via the App to:

  • Enable core app functionalities, such as taking a profile picture, selecting images from your gallery, and processing voice commands for expense logging.
  • Send you local notifications and reminders to help you stay on track with your budget.
  • Personalize your user profile.
  • Improve the overall functionality and user experience of BudgetIQ.
